Police appeal after a man is left with fractured eye socket in Sunderland
Officers would like to speak to two people who were in the area at the time
Officers investigating a late-night altercation at a Sunderland bar have issued an image of a man and woman they would like to trace.
Shortly before 3am on Saturday (September 3), it was reported a small group men and women had been involved in a disturbance outside the TTonic late bar on Vine Place in the city centre.
Emergency services attended however the group had already fled the scene on foot before officers arrived.
A 27-year-old man had suffered injuries to his face including a broken nose and fractured eye socket as a result of the altercation.
The incident was later reported to police who subsequently launched an investigation.
As a result five men 23, 25, 27, 27 and 29 and a woman, 26, have been arrested in connection with the incident and all six have been released on police bail as enquiries continue.
As part of their ongoing enquiries, police have today (Tuesday) issued an appeal to the public, asking for their help.
They have also issued the images of a man and woman who were believed to have been in the area around Vine Place at the time of the incident and could have information which can assist officers with their enquiries.
The man and woman pictured, or anyone who knows them, are asked to contact police by either calling 101 or using the ‘Tell Us Something’ page on the police website quoting crime reference 106016T/22.
