Northumbria University hit by cyber-attack which could affect student exam results

Northumbria university say they're working to restore their IT systems - after what's believed to be a cyber-hack

A Cyber attack on Northumbria University could mean disruption for student exam results.

We can reveal the University was were hit by a so called Cyber incident - but they are working to restore IT services.

While it's not known how many students grades will be affected by what the Uni call a "cyber-incident" - they say they were able to spot it quickly.

The statement reads:

“We are experiencing disruption across our networks and IT systems as a result of a cyber-incident.

"We take the security of our systems extremely seriously and as a result we were able to respond quickly to this incident however it has meant some disruption to some of our operations including the delay of some reassessment results.

“We are seeking to resolve the situation as quickly as possible, to minimise any further disruption and continue to update students, staff and stakeholders as we can.”

They say they'll update staff, students and stakeholders as much as they can.
