A Benton-based company say they are now in the final stages of setting up 'The OddBalls Foundation'.

Newcastle United legend Steve Harper and former Newcastle Falcons player Richard Metcalfe along with Ex FEO of Newcastle Falcons Paul Varley co-founded the Oddballs company in 2014.

It’s on a mission to make testicular cancer a topic talked about by Granddads, Dads and Lads all over the world.

The company was created in the pub, after players had found out former Newcastle United player Jonas Gutierrez had been diagnosed.

Steve Harper told Metro Radio “We thought it was important socially to put something back. With it being boxer shorts and the age range we were targeting we had a look at various things and decided that testicular cancer was really something which affected that age bracket”.

Oddballs is now going from online to on the road after teaming up with North East Fiat dealer Richard Hardie. A vehicle has been handed over to the cause, designed to look like one of the bold and crazy boxer shorts that Oddballs create to raise money and awareness for testicular cancer.

The Hippy Jungle wrapped Fiat 500 will be driven around the North East and taken to major events within the region.
