Dr George Rae chairman of the North East British Medical Association says politicians playing games with the NHS could cost lives.

He believes early retirement of GPs and a struggle to hire new ones on the pressure and workload.

The GP told us short term funding announcements and mounting pressure have to be the thing of the past.

Dr Rae said: “A lot of doctors will say the system now isn’t safe, too much is being asked of it and not enough resourcing is being put into it.”
