North East Festival-Goers Flock To Leeds

Published 31st Aug 2015

Hundreds of music fans from across the North East decended on Leeds Festival over the weekend.

Among the line up were Bastille, Years and Years, Charlie XCX and headliners Mumford and Sons, rock legends Metallica and The Libertines.

Our region's talent was also on the bill, with South Shields comedian Chris Ramsay and Newcastle band Little Comets entertaining the crowds on the opening night.

We caught up with Little Comets frontman Robert Coles, who said there are several things the band miss back home: "I live away now, so other than my mam and dad, I really miss the coast. Family is a big one, pease pudding and gravy. In Birmingham where we've been rehearsing this week, I've not been able to find gravy for chips but I've found some now. Oh and Night Owls....and we don't have stotty bread in Greggs."

Around 70,000 people travelled to Bramham Park over the bank holiday weekend.
