The Newcastle United Foundation have announced they will build a new, multi-million pound sports facility - just a free kick away from St James' Park.

The new base will be home to a state-of-the-art sports facility that the Foundation hope will provide sports programmes for thousands of young people in the City.

Kate Bradley, Head of the Foundation said:

"It's not just about constructing a new building for our charity, it's about transforming lives and giving a community a new lease of life and changing it for the better, forever.

"We want to create a vibrant, state-of-the-art hub for sport, learning and wellbeing - with programmes delivered by our team."

"We already coach, educate and mentor a community that we believe really needs us, reaching out to over 50,000 people every year - but we know there's so much more we can do."
