New research into the key selling points of 26 UK cities has revealed Newcastle as one of the top property market hotspots of 2018.

The news comes as online home buying company We Buy Any Home reveal The Selling Points Index 2018, which found the UK cities which are the most desirable for buyers and offer the best conditions for sellers to get a good price.

Newcastle finished in the top 10 of the selling index’s definitive list, thanks to a combination of its high number of outstanding ranked schools (according to OFSTED data) and its impressive NHS service, which managed to treat or admit over 94% of A&E patients in under the four-hour target.

The city also scored well in terms of its burglary rate and average house price.

The research took into account seven key data sets that would determine the ranking of 26 cities altogether. Newcastle has the following data statistics…

The number of outstanding OFSTED rated schools in the area 3rd - 27 schools

The A&E target ratings of local NHS Trust 3rd - 94.4%

Burglary rate 7th - 3.4

Average wage/earnings 12th - £25,216

Employment Rate 21st - 64.8%

The average sale time of a property 21st - 101 days

“With the new year upon us, bringing with it the attractive prospect of a new start, we wanted to highlight the areas of the country which are the most desirable for buyers and offer the best conditions for sellers to get a good price.

“We wanted to make our index as comprehensive as possible and took into consideration a variety of factors that really matter to both buyers and sellers. With good schools and an amazing local NHS service, as well low house prices, it's clear to see why Newcastle has been ranked as one of the most attractive parts of the UK for house buyers and sellers alike.”
