A mosque in Newcastle tells us that young children must be educated on different beliefs and cultures.

They believe that sending teenagers or young people to jail is not the solution and that education is the key.

It is after a break out of riots across England - including Sunderland - fuelled by misinformation online.

Abdul Basith Mohammed, Imam at Newcastle Central Mosque, said: "Sending kids to jail will ruin their entire life so I believe education is a must.

"I think educating, building the bridges, bringing them to the other communities and making them experience what they do and who they are instead of getting fake messages on social media.

"These days a lot of teenagers are growing up without guidance so there's no role models to them and this is a big problem.

"That's why we see a lot of young lads doing all the violence during the riots or the protests."
