Three suspected dealers to face court and £100K of Class A and B drugs seized

Kilos of illicit drugs worth £100,000 have been seized and three suspected dealers to face the courts in a further takedown of organised crime.
On Friday (February 10), five warrants were executed at addresses across Fenham, Elswick, Lemington and Heaton – as part of Operation Sentinel – the Force’s continued activity to clamp down on illegal drug supply and the criminals behind it.
A total of 1.2kg of suspected Ketamine and 1.2kg of MDMA was seized from an address on Warkworth Street in Lemington and six people arrested on suspicion of drugs offences.
Two men, aged 28 and 22, and a 56-year-old woman were charged with conspiracy to supply Class A and B drugs and have been remanded in custody until they appear at Newcastle Crown Court on March 13.
A 50-year-old woman remains under investigation and two men aged 19 and 23 were released on police bail.
Speaking about the Force’s continued activity to tackle illegal drug supply, Detective Sergeant Kate Barr, of Northumbria Police said: “This is a fantastic result for our communities, who do not deserve to have organised criminals operating on their doorstep.
“Thanks to our Neighbourhood Support officers working with in conjunction with Serious and Organised Crime officers, three people suspected of supplying dangerous substances, have been arrested and charged, and more than two kilos seized and taken out of circulation.
“This activity will continue as part of our dedicated Operation Sentinel, and we make no apologies for our stance towards this type of criminality.”
