Three local bands got together earlier this month at 'The Cluny' in Ouseburn to raise vital funds for the 'Newcastle Dog and Cat Shelter.' 250 fans packed into the venue to hear songs from 'The Chris Norris Band', 'Lilac Lane' and headliners 'The Longsands.'

The night was organised by local promoter Steve Wraith who was delighted to hand over £1600 to the Shelter.

" It was a great evening with each band bringing something different for the fans. I visited the shelter last year with Joe Allon the former Newcastle United player and the money that we raised will certainly help them continue the great work that they do."

Andrea Wylie is the Chair Of The Board Of Trustees at the Shelter.

" We would like to give our heartfelt thanks to Steve Wraith and his team at 'NUFC Matters Podcast' for choosing us as their nominated charity. The generosity of those fans who bought tickets for the event enables us to continue our vital work at the shelter. Like many charities we're feeling the pinch during these challenging times and every single penny raised will go towards our huge heating costs, vets bills and repairs to the shelter."
