An entrepreneur from Newcastle believes he can take on the big six energy companies with his own company.
Tim Cantle-Jones has set up Future Energy, he said it can help families across the region who are struggling to pay their bills.
He said: “I’ve always enjoyed a challenge and this is what this is.
“We talked to British Gas and SEE and they were enormously patronising and said ‘good luck’.
“I think that if we give customers better service, cheaper prices, better transparency why wouldn’t they come to us?”
Scott Byrom is from the price comparison website UKPower, while he believes it is a great idea he told us it may be difficult.
Scott said: “We’re very unforgiving in the energy market from a customer point of view.
“If you switch to a supplier and there’s operation issues people are going to know about that very quickly.”
