Newcastle boy fighting cancer in New York this Christmas

A little boy from Newcastle will spend his Christmas in New York, fighting a rare cancer.

Kian Musgrove's been battling a rare cancer since he was just a baby and has been getting treatment only available in the US for five months now.

It's cost just under one million dollars so far but the family still have a long way to go before he can get the all clear.

His mum Kat spoke to us as they landed back in the North East for a few days - but it's back to aggressive treatment and more tests over Christmas and New Year.

"A lot of the time he copes really well, because he's been fighting it since he was 18 months. So to him this is just how life is. But there are times when he really just doesn't fancy a needle in his arm or some bloods taken. The odd day he'll complain he does not want to get it done."

Well there's been support right across the North East - with Simon Cowell even getting involved to pay for hotel stays and travel.
