NE Youth, one of the leading youth development charities in the North East, is proud to announce their 90th anniversary in 2025. For nearly a century, NE Youth has been at the forefront of supporting young people across the region, providing opportunities, guidance, and a platform for young voices to thrive.

The official date for the 90th birthday is 10th April - it will be marked with a Gala Dinner at The Fed for 400 supporters, partners and friends of the charity.

Over the last nine decades NE Youth has supported over 1 million young people and worked with and alongside 100's organisations, many of which are now members.

To kickstart the celebrations the team unveiled their plans for the anniversary year and a redesigned 90th logo at their 90th launch event this week at The Fed. The charity hopes to raise an extra 90k across the year.

NE Youth’s genesis story starts back in 1935 when the National Association of Boys Clubs was born, a lot has happened in the last 90 years.... there has been three Kings and one Queen on the throne, man walked on the moon, England won the World Cup (1966)… there’s been recessions and more recently a global pandemic, but the charity has survived and continued to help young people realise their potential. In 1998 it was renamed Northumberland Association of Clubs for Young People, then in 2016 it became NE Youth- with a full offering across the region. The transition from a more localised charity to a regional one is particularly significant, showing their expanding reach and impact.

Celebration events include Burns Night Ball, Clay Pigeon Shoot, Sports event, Quiz Night, Wainwrights Walks and a number of young people focused events.

NE Youth is putting out an appeal to the public to contact them if they attended one of their youth clubs/ projects in 70/80/90s- they are keen to compile some legacy stories to share. If you have a story visit the website ( http://www.neyouth.org.uk)
