Murder investigation launched in Gateshead
A 45-year-old man was found with serious injuries at an address in Birtley
A murder investigation has been launched following the death of a 45-year-old man in Gateshead.
Emergency services were called to an address in Jasmine Terrace, in Birtley, at around 11pm on Thursday, where they found the man with "serious injuries'', Northumbria Police said.
He was pronounced dead soon after.
A police spokesman said that the death is being treated as suspicious, and that a 42-year-old woman has been arrested on suspicion of murder.
