#MH17 One Year On - Barry Sweeney

It's now exactly one year since flight MH17 was shot down over Ukraine, killing all 298 people on board, including two friends from the North East.

John Alder and Liam Sweeney, both lifelong football fans, were on their way to New Zealand for Newcastle United's pre-season games when disaster struck.

12 months on and memorials are being held across the North East today to mark the anniversary.
