Mans Body Found On Durham Field

Police are investigating after the discovery of a man’s body in Newton Hall.

The body was found by a member of the public at around 6.40 this morning on a playing field on Carr House Drive.

Police are keen to trace anyone who may have seen this man in the time leading up to his death.

He was wearing two tone tan and brown walking boots, dark blue jeans with a light blue fleece and a navy waterproof coat on top. He was wearing glasses and a navy blue flat cap. The man has white/grey hair with white/grey stubble/beard and blue eyes.

Detective Superintendent Adrian Green said: “The investigation is at a very early stage and I am keen to hear from anyone who may recognise the description of this man. The man’s body has yet to be removed and forensic work is underway at the scene.

“The forensic work may take some time and I would ask for patience from the local community while it is carried out.”
