Manhunt underway after Boxing Day robbery in Gateshead

An investigation is underway after a Boxing Day robbery at a convenience store in Gateshead. Police received a report of a robbery at Fulli’s Paperware Ltd on Coatsworth Road, at around 6pm last night (Tuesday, December 27th). It was reported that a male entered the store with his face covered and carrying a knife. He threatened a staff member and demanded they hand over cash from the till. The offender then fled the store with a small quantity of cash. Officers attended and carried out enquiries to establish the person responsible. The female staff member was not injured but was very shaken by the incident. The offender is described as male, around 5ft 8in tall. He had his face covered and was wearing a navy top and jogging bottoms. Anyone who saw anyone acting suspiciously in the area around the time of the incident, or had any information that may help police, should ring 101 quoting log 598 26/12/16.
