Man Shot Dead in South Shields
Police have been dealing with a shooting in South Tyneside. At 9:58pm last night (Tuesday, April 7) police received a report that a man had been shot at the rear of the Herbs n Spice kitchen takeaway in Lake Avenue in South Shields. Police and paramedics attended the scene and the male victim was found with a gunshot wound. He received treatment but was pronounced dead at the scene. The incident happened in the rear lane of Lake Avenue and a section of the area is currently closed to the public while emergency services respond. Enquiries are ongoing into the incident and extra officers are in the area to provide reassurance to the public.
