Man punched and kicked in Morpeth taxi rank attack
A man was punched and kicked in the head after trying to split up an argument at a taxi rank in Morpeth.
The 58-year-old was in the taxi queue in the Market Place at 1.50am in the early hours of Sunday, August 21, when he intervened in a argument.
He was assaulted by a man, suffering punches and kicks to his face. The offender then left with another man in a taxi.
The injured man went to Cramlington Hospital for a head wound and was released following treatment.
The offender is described as a white man, aged mid 20s to mid 30s, approximately 5ft 8-10ins tall, medium build with dark hair a Newcastle accent wearing a grey polo shirt.
Police are appealing for witnesses, anyone who was in the area and who may have seen or heard anything suspicious is asked to contact police.
