Man dies after serious collision in Berwick

A man has died after a serious collision with a car in Berwick.

The incident happened just after 7.45am this morning, Thursday August 17, on Castle Street, Norham in Berwick.

An 81-year-old man was out walking his dog when the collision happened.

Paramedics and the air ambulance attended the scene along with officers however sadly the 81-year-old man, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Officers are carrying out enquiries into the collision and are appealing for any witnesses who may have been in the area or who saw an elderly man walking his dog at that time.

The road was temporarily closed at Junction A698 to Norham Castle but it has now reopened.
