Man arrested on suspicion of having explosives in West Denton

Police officers and bomb disposal experts have carried out searches at a house in West Denton and seized a number of items. These have been removed from the address and officers have left the scene. They do not believe there is any risk to the public however there will be a policing presence in the area overnight and further enquiries will be carried out inside the property tomorrow. The 50-year-old man arrested in connection with this incident remains in custody and enquiries are ongoing.
