Man arrested in connection with alleged rape in Sunderland
Police are appealing for information after a report of a rape in Sunderland. At 5:24am on Tuesday, November 29, police received a report of concern for a woman in Roker Park Road. Officers attended and the woman disclosed that she had been raped in the park. An investigation is underway and a section of the park has been cordoned off while enquiries are carried out. There are extra officers in the area carrying out patrols and speaking to people this morning. A 19-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the incident and is currently in custody. Anyone who was in the area this morning and who saw or heard anything is asked to contact police on 101 quoting reference number 108 29/11/16.
