This summer, The Alnwick Garden is excited to announce the launch of its first ‘Lililympics’. Held in the venue’s magical village of Lilidorei, the event will see children of all ages compete for a place on the Lililympics podium.

From Friday 26th July, children of all ages can enjoy a variety of sporting fun, competing in teams that represent the clans of fairies, elves, goblins, hobgoblins, sprites, pixies, trolls and dwarves that inhabit Lilidorei.

Home to the largest play structure in the world and nine invisible clans, Lilidorei is ruled by beloved leader, Lord Elfwin. This summer, the clans have come together to celebrate the Olympic Games 2024.

Free to visitors with a ticket for the play village, Nathan Bonk, head of play at Lilidorei, said: "This summer-long event is a wonderful opportunity for families to experience the magic of Lilidorei and enjoy some friendly competition through a host of fun activities. From axe throwing and booger ball to hula hooping, running, and jumping, there is something for everyone.

“Throughout the games, children will have the chance to score points for their chosen Lilidorei clan, with a weekly winner announced throughout the school holidays. The overall Lililympics champion will be revealed at the end of the summer holidays.

“Which clan wins is down to you!”

The world of Lilidorei is the creation of the Duchess of Northumberland, who designed the magical village to inspire children to escape the real and online world and indulge their imaginations. Elfwin Drin is the largest play structure in the world, standing 26 metres high, it is taller than the Angel of the North.

This summer, visitors can enjoy both The Alnwick Garden and Lilidorei with a new combination ticket, priced at £22 for adults and £16.50 for children.
