January ballot for the Great North Run opens TODAY!
The iconic race takes place on 7th September 2025
The January ballot for the world famous AJ Bell Great North Run 2025 opens today, Monday 6th January at 10am.
The ballot runs until Wednesday 15 January 2025 at 2pm, at which point ballot applications close.
The world’s biggest half marathon will return to the North East on Sunday 7 September 2025, and this ballot presents eager participants with a final opportunity to secure a much sought-after entry in the greatest event in the annual running calendar.

With 60,000 entrants crossing the start line, the Great North Run continues to be the greatest half marathon in the world, with many taking part to support good causes raising an estimated £25 million for charity.

The January ballot will be drawn shortly after closing with all successful applicants receiving an email to confirm their place.
