How Green Fingered Are We in the NE?

Published 18th Jun 2015

Over the last 70 years, a lot has changed. The way we live, the way we communicate and the way we are entertained has all changed. One thing that is still as popular as ever however, is gardening!

From growing fruits and vegetables in post war Britain, to scouring the internet for tips on how to successfully keep your lawn properly maintained, gardening is as popular as ever but exists in a very different form.

To take a look at how the gardening world has changed, the team over at Bakker Spalding has released a new infographic.

It includes some useful stats about modern gardening including…

  • 72% of people turn to the Internet for gardening help and advice
  • People now spend between an average of 1-5 hours per week in their garden
  • The average garden size has shrunk to just 163.2m
