Gateshead police investigate "mass brawl"
Witnesses reported seeing the men, possibly armed with weapons, fighting in the street before fleeing in cars.
Police are appealing for information after a disturbance in a street in Gateshead. Around 10:30pm on Friday, April 15, a number of men were involved in an altercation in the street in the Old Fold area near to the junction of Eastwood Gardens and Pattinson Gardens. Witnesses reported seeing the men, possibly armed with weapons, fighting in the street before fleeing in cars. Enquiries were carried out and officers quickly arrested three men, aged 20, 29 and 26, in connection with the incident. Three men were arrested and have been bailed pending further enquiries. Anyone who was in the area the night of the incident and who saw any fighting or anything suspicious, or who has any information that could help with enquiries, is asked to contact police on 101 quoting reference number 1243 15/04/16.
