"The dog did it" - Driver Jailed
County Durham man claimed his dog Buster was in the foot well pressing the pedal with his bum.
A man who blamed his dog for pressing the accelorator during a police car chase has been jailed. 23 year old Jordan Winn of Murray Park in Stanley was doing speeds of 80 miles per hour on Waldridge Lane in Chester-le-street in October 2013.
He claimed his Staffordshire Bull Terrier Buster was putting his behind down on the accelorator and the brakes as his car swerved to avoid a family car while travelling at speeds described as around 100mph in a 30 zone.
His excuse was called ludicrous by a judge today - he's been given a 13 sentence and banned from driving for 3 years.
