DJ Schak announces huge Newcastle hometown Christmas show
DJ Schak has announced that he will host and perform his biggest headlining show to date THIS YEAR at NX Newcastle on Saturday December 16th.
Schak – who has enjoyed a meteoric 2023 – will end the year on a high and will be joined for his 'Hometoon Christmas Special' by very special guests and friends Kimmic, Danny Bond & Ellie Scougall.
2023 has already been huge for Schak, with highlights including his legendary Mixmag Lab stream that treated a ballistic crowd to his second single “Inferno” and performing an official halftime set before the historic Newcastle United vs. Southampton game at the Carabao Cup in St James’ Park.
Continuing his upward trajectory, the producer enjoyed a busy summer of Ibiza dates, alongside Patrick Topping and Calvin Harris, in addition to performances at festivals like Creamfields, Nass, Hideout, and many more.
Speaking ahead of today's announcement, the 'Moving All Around' star said: “This is my home city and my biggest headlining show ever. The people of Newcastle are on a different frequency to anywhere else in the world and this is why I love being where I'm from. This night is going to be high energy. Just total love and unity.
“Designing a show around me, putting a line-up together that includes some of my best mates and playing in front of my people is the best Christmas gift I could ever have.
“I want to spread joy and happiness with everybody. I want them to have the best night of their lives and make memories that they'll never forget.”
Greatly inspired by his Newcastle roots, Schak’s music is influenced by the distinctly North East sound of music subculture Makina; an energetic blend of happy hardcore, scouse house, donk, and rapid-fire MC-ing.
Schak’s sound provides a cathartic outlet for ravers and invokes a deep sense of community that he continues to project in his artistry.
Also on the bill at the NX Christmas special this December is Kimmic. The Dundee duo are stamping their mark all over the UK with their unique and high energy sound. Having released their first single on the massive record label Polydor (Universal Music), they have gone from strength to strength gaining multiple Radio 1, Capital Dance and KISS FM plays including a Radio 1 hottest record.
Danny Bond is making big moves with his signature grooves. This Northern powerhouse has been shaping his local Leeds underground for years but 2023 saw him break onto the world stage Bond's solid house sound is informed by the swing of New York, the energy of the Dutch scene and the feel-good pianos of the 90s.
Meanwhile, Ellie Scougall, born and raised in Newcastle, will complete the line-up for the 'Hometoon Christmas special'.
Cutting her teeth on the city’s underground club scene, Ellie's love for dance music and energetic sets are turning heads. As a product of the North East, her sets span a unique selection of house, garage, electro and this rising talent is heavily influenced by the 90's.
