A fish and chip shop in Hartlepool has started serving its festive menu which includes something you might not expect...
The Almighty Cod allows you to order battered brussel sprouts, battered sweet mince pie and even battered pork, sage and onion stuffing balls.
Owner Michelle Lane said: "People don't expect it and it's actually nice. Some people are sprout lovers and sprout haters but if people who like sprouts will like these. People that have them do enjoy it, they can't finish it because it's normally too much but they love it.
"We just wanted to do a chippy Christmas dinner. We have the chips, brussel sprouts, the mushy peas, the pigs in balnkets with gravy and we put the pork stuffing balls on as well. It really does work. It's nice.
"The sprouts have been on the menu for a good few years now. We do get people asking 'when are you getting them back? Are they coming?' It's seasonal and I know you can do them all year round but we tend to do them at Christmas time."
