Adam Johnson to be removed from FIFA 16
EA confirm they've started removing the disgraced player from active games.
Disgraced footballer Adam Johnson is being removed from FIFA 16, EA have confirmed.
The game manufacturer sent TFM a statement reading: “Adam Johnson has been removed from the Active Rosters of both Sunderland and England in FIFA 16.
"We’re working to remove him from other modes within the game as soon as possible.”
Meanwhile, pressure is continuing to mount on Sunderland Football Club to explain why Adam Johnson was allowed to continuing playing.
Police in Durham confirmed the club were informed on the day of Johnson's arrest that he was suspected of engaging in sexual activity with a child.
Detective Inspector Elfwyn Sampson says a meeting was called after the club called the police following the midfielder's arrest.
Sunderland CEO Margaret Bryne was confirmed to have been in this meeting.
DI Sampson said: "We had a meeting with Margaret and disclosed at that point, in broad terms, that Adam Johnson, one of their employees, had been arrested for sexual activity with a child.
"That is perfectly normal within a child protection investigation.
"If an employee who may have contact with children or young people has been arrested for an offence of that nature, we would make disclosure to ensure that the organisation can safeguard other young people that the employee may have contact with."
The club say they weren't aware Johnson was planning on pleading guilty, but haven't yet commented on knowing about the charges.
The 28-year-old was sacked by the club the day after he pleaded guilty to kissing and grooming the girl.
He was found guilty of one count of sexual activity with a child on Wednesday and is facing up to 10 years in prison.
