Newcastle is Celebrating Christmas in Style with Exciting New Markets!

New attractions, entertainment and local retailers have hit the city and make a destination of choice for festive shoppers and visitors alike.

This year the Christmas market aren't only be based at Grey’s Monument but also extended to Blackett Street and Northumberland Street, with the yuletide takeover, which started on Saturday 16 November 2019. Shopping stalls and attractions be open until Tuesday 24 December 2019, while the street food and drink offering will remain open until New Year's Eve.

Mellors Amusement have brought exciting new attractions including a thrilling 30m toboggan slide where riders can whizz down Blackett Street in tubes, a beautiful, traditional carousel and a novel Helter Skelter bar allowing parents to relax with a mulled wine, spiced cider or luxury hot chocolate, whilst children experience the delights of the rides and attractions.

Christmas shoppers and visitors to the city can also be able to take a break and soak up the atmosphere in the brand new, cosy ski lodge themed bar, Après Ski which will be serving drinks throughout the festive period.

The markets aren't the only thing that Newcastle City Council have planned for this year's festive period! The Grainger Market are pulling out all of the stops, the iconic Fenwick Christmas window is back, and don't forget the Centre For Life's open air ice rink.
