First Bigg Foodie Friday vendors announced

NE1's inaugural Bigg Foodie Friday street food market took place on Friday 31st May, from 11am until 3pm.
The first Bigg Foodie Friday set the bar high with its vendors including many award winning and highly renowned local food operators, with the food on the market menu ranging from burgers to bangers and pizza to curry. Nine vendors filled stalls on the newly refurbished Bigg Market.
The event will restore a regular food market to the Bigg Market on every last Friday of the month during the summer and into Autumn.
What food can you expect to see?
Well, among the vendors signed up for the first Bigg Foodie Friday were; Meat: Stack, described by the Journal newspaper’s Secret Diner as the best burger in Newcastle, Geordie Banger Co. who currently have a stall in the Grainger Market.
Joining them are Papa Ganoush and Chucho's who have restaurants outside the city, Laneway with Proven Goods, Kafe Neon, as well as Fire&Dough with their spectacular wood-fired pizzas, Simply Greek and Curry Rolls, winner of the 'Argie Bhaji' Food Battle at Wylam Brewery.
Ben Whitfield, Head of Marketing and Events at NE1 Ltd said, “We are excited to get the Bigg Foodie Fridays off the ground and hope the street food market will become a regular date in people’s diaries.
"The last Friday of the month should mean that people have been paid and can come down to enjoy a monthly market with a changing line up of street food vendors in the newly refurbished Bigg Market."
