Michelle Keegan's star is continuing to rise after going from a barmaid in Weatherfield to a Corporal working as an army medic in Nepal. And whilst we're know that the 30-year-old actress looks back fondly on her time in Coronation Street, she's now revealed that starring in Our Girl has actually had a helpful impact on her life.
Michelle, who joined Our Girl in its second series, has spoken out ahead of the third series, which is due to return to BBC One next week.
The actress, whose husband Mark Wright is currently working in the US, told the Daily Star that working on the show has given her much more confidence in herself - especially when it comes to first aid.
She recounted a story in which a woman in a restaurant had collapsed due to low blood sugar levels, and that she had taken the initiative to tell a waiter that the woman required something to raise them.

"Before Our Girl I would never have done that. I would have gone into a panic state."

This comes after Michelle said once again that she would "definitely not" join her husband Mark in America, saying, "I'd love to work in America but I couldn't see myself living out there full time, I'm a home bird. It won't be permanent."
