The Jump's Rebecca Adlington seriously injures shoulder whilst practicing a ski jump
The former swimmer was in agony after the incident.
Double Olympic gold medallist Rebecca Adlington has seriously injured her shoulder whilst training for Channel 4 television series The Jump.
Rebecca lost control whilst practicing a ski jump at high speed and was left in floods of tears after an awkward landing resulted in her shoulder being dislocated.
The mother-of-one appeared to be in complete agony during the incident and compared the pain she suffered to child birth. She said:
"What people didn't see in the edited footage is that I was lying there with a dislocated shoulder for 40 minutes. It was worse than childbirth and it's still horrible now because people keep knocking my arm"
The fall has put the 26-year-old's place in the competition in doubt, however after being checked over at a local medical facility it appears she is now back in the contestant's house for the time being.
This isn't the first time in the show's history that a contestant has suffered on the slopes. 2015’s show was also plagued with injury as Strictly Come Dancing’s Ola Jordan had to pull out after suffering severe ligament damage and reality star Sally Bercow was also forced to quit after breaking two ribs in a training accident.
2014 saw Olympic legend Steve Redgrave pull out after being defeated by a series of training injuries and comedian Marcus Brigstocke was hospitalised after rupturing a ligament in his knee following a bad fall in the final.
The Jump is on every Sunday on Channel 4.
