Norwich Christmas Switch-On event won't take place in 2020
Norwich's popular Christmas Switch-On event is not taking place this year, becoming the latest in a long line of events to be cancelled because of the Covid-19 pandemic.
The City Council have confirmed the lights will still illuminate the city over the festive period but they're unable to put a public event on to celebrate.
Councillor Alan Waters, Leader of Norwich City Council, said: “It will come as no surprise that we’ve had to cancel this public event, in light of the continuing Covid situation, but please be assured the city will look as Christmassy as ever."
