A man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder

Investigations are continuing after a woman was stabbed in the Ipswich area on Monday 26th April.

A man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder.

Officers were called just after 8.40am to reports a woman had been seen in distress in the Yarmouth Road area of Kirby Cane, near Bungay. The woman was then seen being driven away from the address.

At 11.20am, Suffolk Police received reports that a woman had been found with stab wounds in the Nacton area of Ipswich. The woman has been airlifted to Addenbrookes Hospital in Cambridgeshire with serious injuries.

She remains in hospital in a serious condition.

A man, aged in his 30s, has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and was taken to Martlesham Police Investigation Centre.

He's since been moved to Great Yarmouth Police Investigation Centre where he's due to questioned by Detectives today.

Detective Inspector Tom Smith, from Norfolk Police, said: "We are at the early stages of our investigation but enquiries are ongoing to establish the events leading up to the woman sustaining her injuries.

"However, we do believe those involved are known to each other."
