Wisbech thief jailed after targeting vulnerable people
She'll spend two and a half years behind bars
A thief who targeted vulnerable and elderly victims in Wisbech has been jailed for more than two years.
42 year old Katie Colman, of no fixed address, will spend two years and six months behind bars.
She'd admitted to five counts of theft, one count of harassment without violence, one count of assault, one count of burglary and one count of fraud at Peterborough Crown Court.
Another count of burglary will lie on file.
She targeted her first victim, a 49 year old man from Wisbech, in December 2021. She borrowed £40 which she never paid back.
On December 19 she let herself into the home of a man who lived alone in the town, taking his wallet and later using his bank card to withdraw cash.
She also stole from an 86 year old man on three separate occasions between December 27 and 28 - assaulting her victim during one of the incidents.
DC Lily Deacon of Cambridgeshire Police said: “Coleman shamefully targeted elderly and vulnerable people to steal money.
“She is a prolific offender in Wisbech so I am very happy she has been brought to justice as it will bring some closure to the many people who have been affected by her crime.”
