A fundraiser in memory of a Wisbech Rugby Club player who died after going down during a game over the weekend has raised thousands of pounds.
Arturas Rudys collapsed on the pitch during his team's match against Diss on 14th October.
Ambulances were called to the Chapel Road ground in Wisbech following a collision between two players, and despite efforts to resuscitate him on the pitch, he passed away.
The Counties 1 Eastern Counties game was then abandoned.
Now, the fundraiser, which had a target of £5000, has raised more than double that - reaching nearly £13,000 at time of publishing.
