A local activist is warning that the Government's welfare bill will push more disabled people into serious poverty.

Restricted eligibility for Personal Independence Payment now only apply to new claimants- under new concessions from Number 10.

The Government says the 'Welfare Bill' puts robust protections in place to support the most vulnerable and severely disabled people.

"It creates a 'two-tier' welfare system"

Mark Harrison lives in Norwich and is from 'Disabled people against cuts':

"In many ways the changes the Government has made to this bill makes it worse. As it creates a 'two-tier' welfare system and people with the same health issues or disabilities will now get different amounts of money.

"This money could be raised through levying a stronger tax on billionaires. This is a relatively small amount of money in the grand scheme of things.

"The Government are doing one thing, saving money, and saying it's about something else entirely.

"If they were serious about getting disabled back into work they would remove the structural barriers that prevent them from doing this.

"They would increase funding for the access to work programme instead of cutting it".
