Police have released footage of the moment a train hit a driver, who had ignored railway barriers and driven onto a level crossing near Norwich.

The incident happened last July at Great Plumstead. A Greater Anglia service carrying dozens of passengers was involved.

63 year old Steve Kennedy-Smith, of Irstead Road in Norwich, has been convicted of dangerous driving after the incident.

He's been handed a 6 week suspended prison sentence and a 12 month driving ban.

British Transport Police have branded the incident 'shocking'. Nobody was injured.
