University of East Anglia confirm no compulsory redundancies to take place

Savings will be made by other means.

It has been confirmed no compulsory redundancies will be made at the University of East Anglia

They are needing to save ÂŁ30m in 2023/24.

This has included a round of voluntary severance, the removal of vacant posts and round of voluntary redundancies.

The university state the additional ÂŁ15m of savings that need to be made over the next three years will be achieved through general income and expenditure management.

Vice-Chancellor Prof David Maguire said:

“UEA has turned a corner. Our student recruitment this year has been successful and we’ve been delighted to welcome our new and returning students to campus in recent weeks.

“Work to develop the University’s new vision and strategy is well under way and we’re very positive about the future.”
