Uniform donations in Norfolk will make 'a real difference'- organiser
The campaign has proved so successful that it's been made a permanent fixture in the shopping centre
A woman running a local uniform collection tells us donations made will make a real difference to struggling families.
Shirts, skirts and trousers can be dropped off at Norwich's Castle Quarter shopping centre- next week.
Another of their school uniform pop-up events held in the centre in January and February saw all 600 pieces of school clothing donated redistributed to local families, for free.
The campaign has proved so successful that it's been made a permanent fixture in the shopping centre.
Donations can also be dropped off at the Castle Quarter management office, on Level 3 or at the donation station located on Level 2, near the Cattle Market entrance.
Given in Kindness’ event runs from Monday 11th August to Friday 15th August, 9am – 4pm.
"Finding that money is getting very, very tricky for so many"
Gemma Hyde's put this all together:
"Parents and families have been telling us that buying school uniform is expensive. An average family has three or four children in it and that means they're probably having to spend hundreds of pounds each summer before another school year starts.
"Finding that money is getting very, very tricky for so many. So they have to make a range of hard choices and decisions. But hopefully, we the donations that we get we can help them".
