Dr David Hall has been filming a documentary on UFO hunting in Norfolk and Suffolk.

Dr Hall is one of the East's most famous scientists, having served as a doping investigator in the 2012 Olympics. He now leads Sky History show called 'World War Two Mystery: Foo Fighters' which is produced by Norfolk based Coleman Television.

It seeks to find the truth about the mysterious lights that followed British bombers based in the East of England during World War 2 and potential UFO sightings in Rendlesham Forest.

Dr Hall told us he went into this documentary "genuinely with an open mind" about whether extra-terrestrial life had ever visited either of the counties. However, he says that the intentional or unintentional spread of many government's on the matter as drawn him to the conclusion that aliens have probably never visited.

He went on to say that the many reported sightings of UFOs in Rendlesham Forest are probably link to the fact that its by a military base, in RAF Woodbridge. He told me that sightings are almost always centred around these type of bases, which means sighting are more likely to military tests than anything else.

Dr Hall concluded by saying that he "really enjoyed" filming in Norfolk and Suffolk. He said the wide open spaces were perfect for filming and perhaps lends itself to being quite an "interesting place for extra-terrestrial life to visit" and "may be an attraction for the landing process of alien visitation".

'World War Two Mystery: Foo Fighters' is on Sky now until August 30th.
