Two men charged after armed robberies in Norwich

It comes after staff at two shops were threatened and assaulted

Two men have been charged in connection with several armed robberies in Norwich over the weekend.

The first incident happened at a store in Aylsham Road at 9:47pm on Saturday (June 3), when two men threatened a shop employee and took cash.

The worker was also assaulted, suffering minor injuries.

A shop on Heigham Street was targeted at around 10:30pm the next day, when three men entered and threatened a staff member with a knife and what is thought to be an air pistol.

Cash and alcohol was taken, with the worker also suffering minor injuries.

Jake Gallagher, aged 19, of Key & Castle Yard, Norwich and Kaine Fairweather, aged 22, of Munnings Road, Norwich, have each been charged with two counts of robbery following their arrest on Monday (June 5).

Each has been remanded into custody ahead of a future court appearance. Searches are ongoing for the third suspect.
