Train services between Norwich and Lowestoft are to be replaced by buses from 9pm on Thursday 21 December to 12pm on Friday 22 December.

It comes after the Environment Agency issued flood warnings.

Greater Anglia says a section of the line near Haddiscoe will be temporarily closed due to a significant risk of flooding following an expected tidal surge.

As a result, they're advising passengers travelling between Norwich and Lowestoft to allow more time for their journey and check before they travel.

The last services on Thursday 21 December will be:

20.05 Norwich – Lowestoft

20.57 Lowestoft – Norwich

All other services will be replaced with a rail replacement bus service until around midday on Friday 22 December.

Customers will also be able to use their rail tickets to travel on local buses operated by First Eastern Counties.

They'll also be able to use their tickets to travel on Saturday, if they choose to not travel on the dates affected by the closure.

Cancellation

Greater Anglia's also confirmed, due to the displacement of trains caused by the line closure, the 6:40 am Lowestoft-Ipswich service on Friday 22 December will not go ahead.

Train services between Norwich-Great Yarmouth and Norwich-Sheringham will be unaffected.
