A yellow warning for thunderstorms is in force across Norfolk, Suffolk and Essex.
The Met Office says there's a good chance driving conditions will be affected by spray today. with standing water or hail leading to longer journey times for drivers.
It says there's also a chance of delays to train services, some short term loss of power and other services.
It added we could see some damage to a few buildings and structures from lightning strikes, with flooding causing some issues for buildings and homes.
The warning is in force until 3pm today.
