Three people jailed for kidnap and torturing vulnerable woman in Norfolk

Three people have been jailed for more than 30 years collectively for kidnapping, sexually assaulting, and torturing a vulnerable woman.
Elisha Robinson, age 23, of Hurricane Close, Attleborough and Jodie Colvin, age 23, of Sterlet Grove, Mulbarton, were both jailed for 12 years and 9 months after admitting assault by penetration, causing a person to engage in sexual activity without consent, false imprisonment, and inflicting grievous bodily harm (GBH) at a previous hearing.
Robinson also admitted administering a poison or noxious substance with intent and two counts of assaulting a police officer.
A teenage boy, who can’t be named for legal reasons, was jailed for six years after admitting false imprisonment and inflicting GBH. He was also found guilty of assault by penetration and causing a person to engage in sexual activity without consent.
Judge Shaw told the court that this was ‘amongst the most serious case I have had to deal with’, further commenting ‘how you can treat another human being in this way is beyond me’.
The court heard how Colvin and Robinson arranged to meet their victim in Norwich city centre on the evening of Monday 6 February 2023.
They drove her to Colvin’s home in Mulbarton with the teenage boy, where they abused and tortured her for the next seven hours, filming the assault and abuse on their mobile phones.
Robinson, Colvin and the teenager sexually assaulted the victim, hitting her around the head and face, pulling out her hair and pouring bleach over her.
At around 5.30am on Tuesday 7 February, Colvin and Robinson “marched her out of the house” with a baseball bat and threatened to hurt her if she told anyone.
She raised the alarm at a nearby house, and the homeowner called police and emergency services.
Forensic analysis later confirmed Colvin’s home as the location where the torture, assault, and abuse took place. Colvin, Robinson and the teenager were arrested that afternoon at Robinson’s home in Attleborough.
They were charged and remanded in custody.
In a statement read out at today’s hearing on behalf of the victim, the court heard how she was left in considerable pain, both physically and mentally.
She said: “I really struggle to get my head around how a human being could treat another human being the way I was treated. And why did it happen to me?!”
“I can barely sleep as I keep reliving the whole thing and if I do sleep, I wake up terrified from recurring nightmares.
“The knock-on-effect of the assault and the damage it has caused to myself, and my family, will last forever. Nothing will ever be the same again.”
Detective Sergeant Tom Cole, who led the investigation, said: “This was a horrific, calculated and vicious attack over a number of hours.
“The three defendants subjected her to a hugely traumatic event and none of us can imagine how truly awful that experience must have been for her.
“I want to thank her for showing such courage and bravery to tell us what they had done to her. I hope this sentence provides some closure and some justice. “
