Three weeks of resurfacing works on Thorpe Road in Norwich has started, with the road closed 24/7 for the first seven days.

The road's shut between Lower Clarence Road and Matlock Road junctions, including the junction with Carrow Road.

Between the 7th and 13th June, the closure will be in place 24-hours a day.

Then from the 14th until the completion of the work, the road will be shut from 7am to 7pm.

The time will also be used to complete the Transforming-Cities funded-project in the area, which includes a new contraflow bus and cycle lane on Thorpe Road.

Advance warning and diversion signs are in place, and access to properties is going to be maintained throughout.

An additional overnight closure of Carrow Road was planned but is no longer needed.
