Teenager stabbed in Aylsham as police search for suspect who left the scene
Police are appealing for information after a teenager was stabbed on Hungate Street in Aylsham and a second suspect fled before officers arrived.
A teenager has been taken to hospital after being stabbed on Hungate Street in Aylsham, and police are continuing to search for another person who left the area.
Police were called to Hungate Street shortly after 8pm on Thursday 22 May following reports that a teenager had been stabbed.
A teenage boy was found with a serious but not life-threatening injury. He was first taken to the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital, then later transferred to Addenbrooke’s Hospital in Cambridge for further treatment.
Another teenage boy was arrested at the scene on suspicion of affray. He was taken to Aylsham Police Investigation Centre, where he remains in custody.
A second suspect left the scene before officers arrived. Police say efforts to find him are ongoing.
Norfolk Police said the victim and the person who left the scene are known to each other and confirmed there is no risk to the wider public.
A police spokesperson said: “Officers will be conducting enquiries in the area and will be on patrol in Aylsham over the coming days.”
