Teen sentenced for attacking man with hammer in Lowestoft

An 18 year-old has admitted to assault.

Tay Morey, who's 18 and from Marine Parade, has been given a suspended sentence after leaving a man with a fractured skull.

In September 2019 Morey cycled past the victim, a man in his 50s, and verbally abused him.

The victim then started to approach Morey who got off his bike and hit the victim over the head with a small hammer/

Morey was arrested on the 5th October 2019 and then later charged.

Morey pleaded guilty to grievous bodily harm and was given an 18 month sentence in a youth offenders institute suspended for two years, and a 2-year non-contact restraining order.
